We run lots of types of courses and sessions so to keep it simple we have one set of T’s and C’s to cover it all.

Terms and Conditions

BRANDS & COMPANY STRUCTURE

Bisham Abbey Sailing School, Bisham Abbey Sailing and Navigation School, Bisham Abbey Waterfront Club are all trading names and brands of Bisham Abbey Sailing and Navigation School Limited, hereafter known as “BASNS”.

Accessible Boating Thames (hereafter known as ABT) is a independent charity that is gifted the equipment, facilities and resources of BASNS, as part of this gift ABT adopts the terms and conditions of BASNS.

BOOKINGS & PAYMENT

Payment secures a course or session place, Bookings for Bisham Abbey Sailing School, Bisham Abbey Waterfront Club or Accessible Boating Thames can only be accepted if made via a BASNS online booking system from our website or on an official BASNS booking form. Gift vouchers may not be redeemed for cash or exchanged.

CANCELLATION

Cancellation or postponement of the booking must be in writing and will result in loss of the course or session fee unless we are able to fill the place or places from our waiting list. In this instance an administration fee of 15% of the fee will be charged. BASNS reserves the right to cancel or postpone for operational reasons. In this event all payments will be refunded unless alternative dates are acceptable. BASNS accepts no responsibility for the effect that weather conditions may have on its programme. Discretion is used in laying on shore-based activities if conditions are unsuitable for the proposed water-borne activity. Severe weather conditions may force BASNS to cancel or postpone a course or session for reasons of safety, in this event all payments will be refunded unless alternative dates are acceptable.

CLIENT OWN BOAT TUITION

Clients undertaking tuition using their own boat do so at their own risk and must ensure their craft is seaworthy and in suitable condition for the duration of the course, in accordance with the relevant Licensing or Harbour Authority requirements. In the event of mechanical failure of the client’s craft, the course will be abandoned and no refund can be made.

POLICIES

Course or session leaders are governed by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and will adhere to the RYA policies and guidelines.

SAFETY

Please advise if the participant is unable to swim, however this will not prohibit participation. Anyone who, in the opinion of the session or course leader, is unfit to take part in an activity or is behaving in a way likely to be a danger to, or spoil the enjoyment of other members of the group, may be excluded from taking part, there will be no refund of fees in this event. The participant is responsible for declaring any medical conditions or injuries that may be relevant.

LOST PROPERTY

We remind everyone to take their belongings home with them. We will endeavour to make lost property available for collection until the end of the season. We regret we cannot forward items by post.

DISCLAIMER

BASNS will at all times take every reasonable precaution to ensure the comfort and safety of the participants and BASNS shall therefore not be held liable for death, personal injury, accident, sickness, loss or damage to the participant’s property or person.

GATHERING & STORING OF CLIENT INFORMATION

BASNS, at times, will gather information relating to the course or session participants and those who book courses or sessions. This information will only be used in relation to services provided by the BASNS. This information will include a medical declaration for participants. Some of this information may be transmitted via 3rd party providers which may operate outside of the UK. BASNS operates from a publicly visible site and as a result cannot guarantee photo privacy at all times.
