RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship Course
This introductory theory course is aimed at the complete novice including anyone new to boating, power-boaters, sea anglers, divers, experienced dinghy sailors & inshore racers or those that may have been on the water, but have no awareness of the significance of what they, or others, are doing around them. The RYA feel that there is sometimes a perception that the existing shore-based theory courses are aimed at sailors rather than motor boaters. This course has equal emphasis on both sectors.
At Bisham Abbey we run the Essential Navigation and Seamanship Theory course over two days, course numbers are small and the RYA course pack with plotter is included in the course fee.
The introductory RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship course, given in a relaxed atmosphere, with no assessments, should whet your appetite for learning and is the perfect launch pad for further theory courses where you can study the subjects in more depth, such as our full RYA Day Skipper five day certificate course, and the one day VHF Radio (SRC), First Aid and Diesel Engine Maintenance courses
The RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship course syllabus will include:
- Charts and Publications Plotter and Chart
