Olympic Sailing Update

Friday 3rd August

A furious Ben Ainslie (furious due to an alleged conspiracy between Jonas Hogh-Christensen (DEN) and P J Postma (NED) yesterday which resulted in Ainslie having to re-round a mark) took on the Finn fleet in the last race today before the final medal race on Sunday.

From an outstanding lead Ainslie tactically dropped back to push Christensen into dirty wind to ensure that Postma got second place in today's race. 

This ensures that Ainslie goes into the medal race on Sunday in first place.  All he has to do now is beat the Dane in that last race to get GOLD for GB.  

Elsewhere in the 470s Team GB lead the fleet with Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell taking a second and first in the first two races.  Paul Goodison lies 6th in the mens Lasers and Alison Young is 4th in the women's Laser Radials.
