Boat Safety Scheme

Bisham Abbey Sailing and Navigation School offers Boat Safety Scheme inspections by authorised independent qualified Examiners. We will travel to your own mooring or venue or you may bring your boat to the School on the banks of the River Thames at Marlow.

Our service is available for first time Boat Safety Scheme inspections, or subsequent inspections falling due after the four year period expires. The fee for the inspection is variable, depending on the size of the craft and the equipment onboard etc.

If you do decide you wish one of our Examiners to inspect your craft please telephone to obtain a quotation, download our BSS inspection booking form or we can send you one, complete and return it to us with your cheque. We can then establish, by telephone, a mutually convenient date, time and venue for the inspection. (Please try to give us approximately 7 – 10 working days notice). It is recommended that you read the Boat Safety Office 'Essential Guide' before your boat in inspected, this is available via the Boat Safety Scheme's official website.

The Boat Safety Scheme Inspection and certificate fee is payable when booking. In the event of your craft not passing the inspection, there will be a re-inspection fee when your craft has been modified.
